This is what I do!
All day long I help kids learn how to play string instruments: violin, viola, cello, bass and harp. We have tons of fun, while working on the basics of musicianship and performance. The first picture (sorry for the quality) is my fifth grade orchestra performing a Mariachi tune at their kick-off to a unit on Latin America; Fiesta Day. All 5th graders participate by singing songs (prepared by the General Music teacher), dancing dances (prepared by the PE teachers) and displaying art (prepared by the Art teacher). The second is my third grade orchestra. Half of these kids started playing their instruments in September. The other half have been playing since 1st and 2nd grade.I love my school!

Thanks for stopping by our blog. Do you think JJ will like going from Mongolia to San Diego? That is going to be some shock to her little system!
Can't wait till you all get referral as well - So hard to just put it all on hold and wait, isn't it.
